IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (4/29/24)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

Student-athletes come in all shapes and sizes.  They don't look alike, think alike or work alike.  They are motivated differently, driven differently, and go about their sport differently.

That being said, there is one kind of student-athlete that drives teachers and coaches somewhat crazy.  It is the one who does the very minimum to get by.

You likely know someone who fits this description.  A student getting C's who could make A's or B's with some effort.  It's an athlete who is the last to practice and the first to leave when it is over, and rarely puts in extra effort.

If you happen to have an area in your life where you are doing the minimum to get by, you are not doing yourself any favors.  You are forming the wrong habits for later in life.  To be successful in college or your future profession, there are no shortcuts.

It is never too late to change your habits.  Now is the time to find the aspect of your life that could use a little more effort and focus on it.  Success is the result of putting forth your best effort on a continual basis.  Start now for future success!!
